How was SARS, which was once raging, finally brought under control?
Sars, which started at the end of 2002 and ended in the summer of 2003, left a deep impression on many people. Although it claimed many lives, due to the great attention of the national health system and relevant departments, our country finally defeated SARS through unremitting efforts, and how SARS was finally controlled, I summarized the following points according to my personal experience:

First, strictly control the source of infection.

At the end of 2002, the first SARS case appeared in Foshan, Guangdong Province, and then spread rapidly in Guangdong Province. At that time, I was still young, and I still didn't know what happened in distant Guangdong. Even after I learned it from adults, I always thought it was a very distant thing, too far away to have anything to do with me.

What contacted me was that there happened to be a person working in Guangzhou in our hometown. When the epidemic broke out in Guangzhou, he fled back to his hometown because of panic, but the government of his hometown knew about it and isolated him overnight, and his family was isolated for three days because of his short contact with him.

Therefore, the government's cautious attitude towards all suspicious sources of infection is the key to gradually control SARS.

Second, the route of transmission has been cut off.

In the spring of 2003, the SARS epidemic began to break out all over the country, and one or two SARS cases appeared in our hometown. In order to stop the spread of the epidemic, the school began to close the school. Students either choose to drop out of school or live on campus, and the school has no necessary conditions to prohibit anyone from going out. In this way, we are completely isolated from the outside world, which not only reduces the probability of infection, but also cuts off the transmission route of the virus between the school and the society because the children are imprisoned in the school.

For some students who have to go out, they must be signed by the class teacher and school leaders before they can leave the school, and they must go to the hospital for relevant examinations before returning to school, and they can enter the school only after everything is normal.

Moreover, the school has strengthened night patrols to prevent students from sneaking out at night. For those who want to sneak into the campus outside, the school also encourages us to actively report, because the epidemic situation in Beijing has gradually become serious. Some teachers who came back from studying in Beijing were forbidden to teach.

It is precisely because the transmission route was cut off that the epidemic situation in our hometown was gradually controlled and no new cases appeared.

Third, protective measures are in place

In order to prevent SARS, I remember that the school would give you free masks at that time, and the school actively encouraged you to wear masks in class. Every time after class, my aunt in the school will open all the windows of our dormitory for ventilation, and sprinkle lime and disinfectant in the toilets in the dormitory and dormitory corridor.

Teachers are also very concerned about students' life during recess. They keep students optimistic and call on everyone to exercise actively. The canteen also prepared nutritious breakfast, lunch and dinner for us, and the school also distributed a newspaper to a dormitory every day, just to let everyone know about the development of the epidemic and not to panic, which will help us overcome SARS.

Fourth, treat patients at all costs.

From the school newspaper, we know that the country puts the life of every citizen first. In order to treat patients, the state has done a lot of work. First of all, the medical expenses are all borne by the state, and a large number of medical staff are organized to treat patients regardless of the cost. In order to make patients recover as soon as possible, many medical staff even contracted SARS and gave their precious lives. Whenever we read the touching stories of these medical staff sacrificing themselves in the newspaper, tears will appear in our eyes.

Through the unremitting efforts of the state and medical staff, many patients have successfully broken through the death gate and brought great confidence to other patients. We also read from the newspaper that more and more patients are recovering and fewer and fewer patients are dying.

5. Under strong sunlight, the virus will subside on its own.

I remember being particularly afraid of heat when I was a child, and I always hoped that summer would come slowly. But in the year when SARS was raging, I hoped that the pace of summer would be faster and faster, because the head teacher told us not to be afraid. When summer comes, SARS virus will die quickly under the dual effects of high temperature and sunshine.

Sure enough, summer came, the SARS epidemic suddenly subsided, and the school finally didn't have to close. After school, we can finally walk around freely and return to our long-lost home.

Later, we learned that the epidemic situation of SARS has a certain relationship with the climate. When the temperature is higher than 26℃, most SARS viruses can be killed under strong sunlight, so the SARS virus was finally controlled in the summer of that year.
