This campus has a long history. Established in 1938. During the Anti-Japanese War, it was the seat of the Central Animal Husbandry Laboratory, the Central Serum Research Institute and the Central Agricultural Laboratory. After liberation, it became the famous Rongchang Animal Husbandry and Veterinary School in Sichuan Province, and 1978 was upgraded to Sichuan Animal Husbandry and Veterinary College. 200 1 merged with the former Southwest Agricultural University and Citrus Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences to establish Rongchang Campus of Southwest Agricultural University. In 2005, Southwest Agricultural University merged with Southwest Normal University, and the campus was renamed as Rongchang Campus of Southwest University.
