Huanggang Normal College was founded in 1905 as Huangzhou Normal School, and then went through the development stages of Huanggang Rural Normal School, Hubei Huanggang Normal School and Huanggang Normal College.
1999 In March, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the undergraduate level of the school was upgraded to "Huanggang Normal College"; 20 1 1 10, the school was awarded the right of master's degree; On October 20 14 1 month, the school merged with the former Edong Vocational and Technical College.
By the end of 2020 10, Huanggang Normal University has three campuses: south campus, north campus and west campus, with a total campus area of 1650 mu. There are 18 teaching colleges, 66 undergraduate majors and 43 majors. Full-time teachers 1 158, including full-time teachers 123, associate senior teachers 344, doctors 355 and masters 634. By the end of 20021and 10, Huanggang Normal University had established 20 secondary teaching colleges, including Marxism College, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering College, Education College, Biology and Agricultural Resources College, Art College, Physical Education College, Politics and Law College, Music and Drama College, Huangmei Opera College, Foreign Languages College, Fine Arts College and Business School, and offered 6544 undergraduate majors.
