As a secondary teaching and research institution, the School of Humanities of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology currently has three undergraduate majors, namely, social work, labor and social security and cultural industry management, and four teaching and research sections, namely, social work, labor and social security, cultural industry management and quality education. At the same time, the school of humanities also undertakes basic courses such as college Chinese and art introduction, and undertakes the task of cultural and artistic education for all students; There are also dozens of elective courses in humanities and social sciences, covering social, economic, political, cultural, psychological, educational, scientific and other aspects. There are 36 full-time teachers in the college, including 7 professors, 8 associate professors, 9 doctors 1 person, and 7 doctors1person. .

The three majors are introduced as follows:

◆ Social work major

Social work major is a new major which is in line with international standards, has strong application and extremely broad prospects. In developed countries and regions, the social status and economic benefits of social work professionals are comparable to those of lawyers and university professors. This major mainly trains senior professionals who have basic social work theories and knowledge, are proficient in social investigation and research skills and social work ability, and can engage in social security, social policy research, social administration, judicial correction, community development and management, social service, evaluation and operation in the fields of civil affairs, welfare, labor, justice, schools, communities and enterprises.

It mainly trains professionals who have solid professional knowledge in sociology, management and economics, master modern management techniques and methods, and can engage in human resource management and social security work in government departments, enterprises and institutions. After graduation, students can engage in cultural industry management, cultural management, cultural market operation, cultural project planning, cultural brokerage, trade, consulting and international cultural exchange and dissemination in cultural industry departments (press and publication, film and television, art, network, etc.). ), government management departments, enterprises and institutions. The major of cultural industry management in our college focuses on cultivating compound applied talents who appreciate and identify works of art and develop, operate and manage the advertising and creative industry market. Graduates have the skills of art appraisal, master modern high-tech appraisal technology, and have the ability of market development, operation and management in art management and advertising creative industries, which is especially suitable for art market management.

In recent years, the College of Humanities has made great progress in scientific research. The College of Humanities attaches great importance to the development of Industry-University-Research in three aspects. In recent years, it has signed cooperation agreements with many institutions in Shanghai, such as Shanghai Fengxian District Administration of Culture, Radio, Film and Television, Shanghai Fengxian District Civil Affairs Bureau and Shanghai Fengxian District People's Insurance Bureau, and signed cooperation agreements with more than 30 enterprises. The establishment of these practice bases has greatly broadened the horizons of teachers and students and improved their scientific research and learning ability.

At present, there are 8 15 undergraduates and 20 classes in the College of Humanities. Among them, there are 8 classes of social work, 6 classes of labor and social security and 6 classes of cultural industry management.
