Ritsumeikan University ranks third among Japanese private universities in the world university rankings of 20 19QS.
Ritsumeikan University, referred to as Liuhe Ritsumeikan, is a top private school located in Kyoto, Japan.
Formerly Ritsumeikan, it was a private school founded by Japanese politician Saionji Kinmochi in Kyoto Palace on 1869. The name "life" is taken from the article "I will die young, cultivate myself, so I will live forever" in Mencius.
Ritsumeikan University ranks third among Japanese private universities in the world university ranking of 20 19QS, second only to Waseda University and Keio University.
Ranked 1 in the Times Higher Education Japanese University Ranking, and in 2020 and 2 1 for two consecutive years, it was awarded the highest evaluation by domestic private universities in the Times Higher Education World University Influence Ranking.

Ritsumeikan Academy originated from Ritsumeikan, a private school established by Saionji Kinmochi, a famous Japanese politician and international representative in modern Japanese history, in Kyoto Palace on 1869.
1900, when Saionji Kinmochi was the Minister of Education, Shiro Nakagawa, the Minister, inherited the spirit of Saionji Kinmochi and founded the "Private Kyoto School of Law and Politics". 1905, Saionji Kinmochi promised the private Kyoto Law School to inherit the name of Ritsumeikan, and in 19 13, the school was renamed Ritsumeikan University.
After the war, Ritsumeikan University, under the leadership of President Suekawa Hiroshi, formulated the teaching concept of "peace and democracy" according to the spirit of the Constitution and the Basic Law on Education.
As of July, 20021year, Ritsumeikan Academy has two universities, four junior high schools, one primary school and a high-level comprehensive academy with more than 50,000 students, which is full of individuality and internationality.
The number of graduates since its establishment is as follows: Ritsumeikan University has more than 350,000 students, and Ritsumeikan Asia-Pacific University has about14,000 students.
