Anhui Art Vocational College is the only public comprehensive full-time art college in Anhui Province. Its predecessor was Anhui Art School, which was founded in 1956. 1958 The school was upgraded to Anhui Art College. 1959 Anhui Art College was established after the merger of the Art Department of Southern Anhui College. 1963, in order to implement the eight-character policy, Anhui Art College was reorganized and restored as Anhui Art School. 1996 Anhui Art School and Anhui University jointly established Anhui University Art College, and began to recruit undergraduate and junior college students. In June, 2003, with the approval of Anhui Provincial People's Government, Anhui Film Academy merged and established Anhui Art Vocational College. Since its establishment 60 years ago, the college has shouldered the heavy responsibility of inheriting and promoting excellent culture and art and cultivating artistic talents. It is rooted in Anhui's rich cultural soil, has nurtured its own school-running traditions and characteristics, and has become the base for cultivating cultural and artistic talents in Anhui.
The college has two campuses, Xuancheng Road and Danxia Road, covering an area of 170.22 mu and a building area of 93,237 square meters. There are more than 3000 students in school, including undergraduate, junior college, higher vocational and technical secondary schools. At present, there are conservatories, dance academies, drama and media academies, fine arts academies, comprehensive art academies, drama academies, international and continuing education academies, humanities academies and Marxist academies. Music performance, drama performance, dance performance, performing arts, fine arts, art design and other majors 19 (including 2 provincial specialties), and music, drama, dance, fine arts, film and television art majors have been established. Two "projects of central financial support for higher vocational schools to improve the development ability of professional service industry" for drama performance and dance performance majors passed the acceptance of the expert group.
The college is full of talents and famous teachers come forth in large numbers. There are more than 300 faculty members, including more than 260 full-time teachers and more than 60 senior titles. Li, the first female doctor of pipa in China, the first female dulcimer, Sui Jingshan, the first suona master, Xu Changjun, a famous composer and dean of Tianjin Conservatory of Music, and famous national wind musicians, educators, famous singers, Chi Liming, zhangyan, Wang Li, Jie Xiaodong, etc. "Five Golden Flowers" in Huangmei Opera are Malan, Wu Qiong, Yang Jun, Yuan Mei and Wu Yaling, and plum blossom prize winners Huang Xinde, Li Longbin, Jiang Jianguo and Wen Li.
