1, Shaanxi Normal University (hereinafter referred to as Shaanxi Normal University), located in xi City, Shaanxi Province, is a key comprehensive normal university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), a national "2 1 1 engineering" key construction university, and the first batch of world-class discipline construction universities in China. It has been selected into the national "11plan", "20 1 1 plan", excellent teacher training plan, national postgraduate plan for building high-level universities, national cultural quality education base for college students, scholarship receiving institutions of China government for overseas students, national demonstration universities for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, and so on. Founding members of China-Russia Education University Alliance, New Silk Road University Alliance, Chang 'an Alliance and West Normal University Teacher Education Innovation and Development Alliance, the first batch of pilot universities for national education system reform, and the national pilot universities for free education for normal students are important bases for the country to train teachers, education management cadres and other senior professionals in colleges and secondary schools.

The school was founded in 1944, formerly known as Shaanxi Normal University and the Education Department of Northwest University, and renamed xi 'an Normal University in 1954. 1960 merged with Shaanxi Normal University and was named Shaanxi Normal University. 1978 was placed under the management of the Ministry of Education.

By March, 2020, the school has more than 1.900 teachers, and 95% of the teachers have doctoral and master's degrees, of which 74.5% are doctors, including more than 530 professors and more than 760 associate professors. There are 8 academicians, 6 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding national contributions, 15 national distinguished professor, 8 winners of national talent project, 2 winners of national science fund for distinguished young scholars, 2 winners of national science fund for distinguished young scholars, 3 winners of national science fund for distinguished young scholars, 4 cultural experts and "four batches" talents, 42 winners of "New Century Excellent Talents Support Plan" and 42 winners of Shaanxi "Sanqin Scholars Innovation Team".
