Guizhou Medical University, referred to as Guiyi, was founded in 1938, formerly known as Guiyang Medical College. It was one of the nine national medical schools under the Ministry of Education at that time. 1950 was placed under the management of Guizhou Provincial People's Government and renamed Guiyang Medical College. It is one of the universities in the central and western regions that implement the basic capacity building project, and it is also a key university in Guizhou Province.
The school has two campuses, covering an area of 1800 mu, with full-time students 14000 and graduate students 1600. The total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment exceeds 200 million yuan, and the library has 1, 2 1, 000 books and 4952GB digital books.
