The predecessor of the school is Tangshan Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd., which was founded in 1949. 199 1 year, Hebei Metallurgical Workers College (Zhangjiakou) and Tangshan Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. jointly run a school, and at the same time established a general school named Hebei Metallurgical Workers College (hereinafter referred to as Vocational University).
The former Hebei Metallurgical Workers College was renamed Xuangang Branch of Hebei Metallurgical Workers College; The former Tangshan Iron and Steel Company Staff College was renamed Tangshan Branch of Hebei Metallurgical Staff College.
