Software College of South China Normal University was approved by Guangdong Provincial Department of Education in April 2004 as "Guangdong Provincial Model Software College". It is a four-year undergraduate course, awarded with a bachelor's degree in engineering. The college adopts the training mode of software engineering talents in line with international standards, and employs experts with rich experience in the field of software engineering to participate in teaching and experimental practice guidance, so as to provide good learning and practical conditions for students to systematically learn computer-related knowledge and ability. Based on the regional economic and social development and the demand of the labor market for talents in the information industry, all majors in the school adhere to the principle of competency-based curriculum design, highlight students' technical application ability, emphasize the application of theoretical knowledge as the goal, advocate the student-centered educational concept, strengthen practical teaching and technical training, establish a teaching mechanism with unity of diversity and selectivity, and comprehensively cultivate high-quality professional software technicians who serve the production of enterprises. According to the spirit of the document, with the approval of the school, the Model Software College of South China Normal University began enrolling students in 2005.
