Question 1: How do colleges and universities welcome new students this fall?
The first impression of freshmen is to welcome them to colleges and universities, but this year, due to the need of epidemic prevention and control, the school's measures may be stricter. For example, some schools don't let parents send their children to school. Then, what specific measures will the school take to make the orientation work warm and ensure the safety of students?
Welcome the new year and highlight the theme of "warmth"
Wang Yiming, Minister of Student Affairs of Peking University
In September, undergraduate and postgraduate freshmen in our school reported in succession. In order to create a safe learning environment for students and reassure parents, this year's school orientation work particularly highlights the theme of "warmth".
Previously, all departments had contacted each new student point-to-point in advance to guide the new students to do health monitoring and prepare for school. Each department has appointed a special teacher as the contact person for each new student to answer the questions of students and parents and guide students to make preparations before the start of school.
This year, the school used information technology to record students' daily health status and epidemic prevention information during enrollment through the Yanyuan Cloud War Information Reporting Platform and the new student registration system, simplifying the registration procedures for new students on the same day. According to the students' health status, location and main track, the school reviews the conditions for students to register, verifies the results of nucleic acid detection within 7 days before students arrive at school, and generates a green pass for students to register. Students enter the school with a green pass. For freshmen who can't report to school on time due to the epidemic, the teachers of the department will guide students to register online.
According to the information filled in by students in the new student registration system, the school will arrange staff to pick up students at the corresponding airports and railway stations. Schools set up one-stop check-in stations and buffer zones. The one-stop check-in station highlights the theme of "warmth", and the site has been carefully designed and arranged to create a warm and cheerful atmosphere. Affected by the epidemic, parents accompanying students need to stay in the buffer zone this year, so that students can register at the booth of their department and get campus cards, bath cards and other items. In the check-in booth, there are freshmen's class teachers, class two teachers, department counselors and student volunteers to meet the freshmen. At that time, the campus card service center, power center and other departments will set up workstations at the one-stop check-in station to solve the problems encountered by students.
On September 1 day, the school set up a green channel for freshmen. Students from poor families should go through the registration formalities first, and then pay tuition fees after the bursary arrives at the card. The school has recruited more than 100 directional volunteers and set up dozens of directional service stations and party member workstations, which can ensure the successful registration of 1 1292 undergraduate and graduate students. When freshmen report for duty, there are teachers and student volunteers at the scene to assist freshmen in carrying luggage and handling accommodation-related matters. Parents who can't accompany their children to school due to the epidemic can rest assured. If the daily necessities are not complete, freshmen can buy bedding, sheets, washbasins, thermos bottles and other necessities in the campus life supermarket.
