Is it hopeless to change the name of Minjiang College?
There is still hope for the renaming of Minjiang College.

New progress has been made in the renaming of Minjiang College as a university. At present, the school has completed the application procedure and is ready to welcome experts from the High Committee of the Ministry of Education to visit the school.

Minjiang College, located in Fuzhou University Town, Minhou Street, is a full-time undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. Its predecessor was Fuzhou Teachers College founded by 1958 and Minjiang Vocational College founded by 1984 (including Fuzhou Arts and Crafts School merged by 200/kloc-0). If the name change is successful, it will achieve a three-level leap from normal college to college to university, and it will also be the icing on the cake for Fuzhou to build a first-class university city!

Minjiang College is a public full-time multi-disciplinary undergraduate university officially approved by the Ministry of Education in 2002. It is one of the first batch of universities in China to serve the national pilot program of master's degree education for special needs majors, and it is also the first university in Chinese mainland to implement the "school-enterprise" joint undergraduate talent training program in Fujian and Taiwan universities.
