At present, vocational colleges have two degrees, namely, junior college and undergraduate course. It is a local university in China that implements higher vocational and technical education. Its main goal is to cultivate applied talents needed by small and medium-sized enterprises in the region.

The study period of junior college is 2 ~ 3 years, and that of undergraduate course is 4 years. Take the form of joint education, contract training, directional training and paid distribution. The source of funds and teachers depends on social forces.

Since 20 18, the education department's caution about renaming newly-built undergraduate colleges may indicate that the name of "strictly controlling colleges and universities" will change in the future. "Vocational College" or "Vocational and Technical College" both kept the word "occupation" in the name change and upgrade. At present, vocational colleges have included two levels: junior college and undergraduate course.
