Guangzhou Panyu Vocational and Technical College (formerly Panyu Institute of Technology, Panyu Vocational and Technical College) was established in 1993 and officially approved by the Ministry of Education in September, 1997. It is the first batch of public full-time ordinary higher vocational colleges in China and the first one in Guangzhou. From June 5438 to February 2009, it was officially approved as the first batch of national demonstration higher vocational colleges through the acceptance of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance.

The school is located in Panyu District, Guangzhou, covering an area of 2,067 mu and a building area of 329,800 square meters. The total value of fixed assets exceeds 65.438+006 billion yuan, of which the total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment exceeds 298 million yuan, and the library covers an area of 30,700 square meters. There are 6,543,800 paper books, 2900GB e-books and more than 8,360 kinds of electronic periodicals.
There are eleven colleges, including School of Finance and Economics, School of Management, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, School of Architecture and Engineering, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Foreign Languages and Foreign Trade, School of Information Engineering, School of Art and Design, School of Jewelry, School of Marxism and School of Continuing Education. And set up 44 majors to meet the needs of industrial structure and social development in the Pearl River Delta region.
The school has six key construction majors in national model vocational colleges, including toy design and manufacturing, computer network technology, financial management, visual communication design and production, hotel management, jewelry technology and appraisal, 1 national model vocational college major, and two majors supported by the central government to enhance the development ability of professional service industry.
The school has 934 teaching staff and 545 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, 30.09% have senior titles, 70.46% have graduate degrees, and the proportion of "double-qualified" full-time teachers is 70.28%.
