The Ministry of Education has made it clear that the two first-class universities will be announced around the end of August. There is no official document yet.

If Yunnan University is lucky enough to be selected, it will mostly benefit from the Belt and Road Initiative and the influence of Yunnan University in Southeast Asia. This is not entirely based on comprehensive strength. Including the original 2 1 1, some colleges and universities entered 2 1 1 not by strength, but by the factors of balanced regions.

However, this balance will often lead to many psychological imbalances between universities.
