College students with student ID cards can buy train tickets at half price, but there are time and interval restrictions. Student tickets are not allowed in the following situations:

1. When the school is located with a parent;

2. When students drop out of school, resume school, transfer or drop out of school;

3. When students go back and forth between school and practice place;

4. The student ID card fails to apply for student status on time;

5. The preferential ride interval of the student ID card has changed but the official seal of the school has not been stamped;

6. There is no "student train ticket discount card" or "student train ticket discount card" that is unrecognizable or inconsistent with the student ID card.

Restrictions on the purchase of student tickets by college students: within the preferential ride interval, and the preferential ride interval is limited to families to colleges (internship locations). The number of rides per year is limited to four one-way trips. Unused times in the current year cannot be carried forward to the next year. Travel time is limited to summer vacation June 1 to September 30th, and winter vacation June 12 to March 3rd1.

Legal basis: Article 20 of the Regulations on Railway Passenger Transport, students and graduate students who study in ordinary institutions of higher learning (including private universities with academic qualifications approved by the national education authorities), military academies, primary and secondary schools, secondary specialized schools and technical schools, have no wage income, and their family residence is not in the same city as the school, and can buy families from colleges and universities every year with their student ID cards stamped with the official seal of the university (which can be proved in writing by primary school students). Freshmen buy student tickets with the admission notice, and graduates buy them with the written certificate of the school. Student tickets are limited to the use of hard seats on ordinary passenger trains and second-class seats on EMU trains, and the fare difference should be replenished when using hard sleeper on ordinary passenger trains. Overseas Chinese students and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan shall be handled in accordance with the above provisions.

When selling student tickets, you should choose short-distance trains or trains with few transfers for sale.
