The physical examination requirements of national defense students are: good health, in principle, in line with the physical examination standards for recruiting students in military academies. Main requirements: the height of boys is not less than 162 cm, and that of girls is not less than158 cm; The weight of boys is not less than 50 kg, and that of girls is not less than 45 kg. What is the difference between national defense students and ordinary college students?

Do a good job in military and political training and daily management of national defense students (including those recruited from ordinary high school graduates), master the thinking and learning trends of national defense students, and pay attention to regular ideological and political work. While completing the prescribed teaching content and military and political training tasks, organize national defense students to visit the army in winter and summer vacations to enhance their understanding of the army. National defense students should have the basic qualities of military cadres when they graduate, and can basically meet the needs of their posts.

National defense students are screened during the whole training period. Colleges and training offices should conduct follow-up inspection, establish training assessment files, and fill in the Registration Form for National Defense Students in Ordinary Colleges and Universities. The difference between national defense students and military school students

Military cadets study in military academies, and after passing the re-examination, they obtain their student status and military status, and begin to calculate length of military service. During the study in school, tuition and fees, living expenses and accommodation fees are not paid, and the military service system is implemented, wearing uniform and student epaulettes, and receiving monthly subsidies.

National defense students attend local colleges and universities and enjoy a certain amount of national defense scholarships every year during their studies at school. Fudan University is the earliest university with national defense students in China. On 1999, the school signed an agreement with the Armed Police Force to recruit national defense students, and its system is different from that of ordinary national defense students.
