Dalian polytechnic university, formerly known as Dalian Institute of Light Industry, is one of the key construction universities in Liaoning Province's "Excellence Plan" and "20 1 1 Plan", the first batch of pilot universities for the reform of national agricultural and forestry talents education and training plan, and a member of CDIO Engineering Education Alliance. Founded in 1958, the school is one of the earliest four light industry colleges in China. Originally belonging to the Ministry of Light Industry, it was placed under the management of Liaoning Province from 1998.
