Will Nanchong Campus of Southwest Petroleum University be abandoned?
Will Nanchong Campus of Southwest Petroleum University be abandoned as follows:

There is no confirmed abandonment news at present. Nanchong Campus of Southwest Petroleum University is located in Shunqing District, Nanchong City, Sichuan Province. The campus was built in 1958, and was once the birthplace of Sichuan Petroleum Institute, the second petroleum undergraduate university in New China. However, because the main body of the school moved to Chengdu in 2000, Nanchong Campus only retained some departments and majors. Since the previous major hardware resources have been moved to Xindu Campus, Nanchong Campus may have some shortcomings in hardware facilities.

In recent years, in order to promote the local economic development, Nanchong municipal government hopes that Southwest Petroleum University can return to Nanchong and improve the local education and scientific research level. In order to meet this demand, Southwest Petroleum University is indeed gradually adjusting the campus layout in Nanchong, such as upgrading several professional departments to undergraduate courses, and there are plans to move more departments from Chengdu back to Nanchong.

According to Baidu Encyclopedia, Southwest Petroleum University is called "Southwest Normal University" (SWPU) for short, and its main campus is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
