1906 Wilbur Wade Card, then Sports director of Trinity College, brought basketball to Trinity College. The first game in the team's history was defeated by 10-24 in Wake Forest. 1920, Trinity College won the first championship in history-the state championship. In the final, they beat North Carolina A&M College, the predecessor of North Carolina State University, 25-24. At the beginning of this season, they beat the University of North Carolina with 19- 18, which is the first time in the history of their old enemy. Later, Trinity College was renamed Duke University.
