Composition of Northwest A&F University Library
The library consists of three parts: the South Library, the North Library and the specialized branch of the Institute of Water Conservation. South Library highlights the modern management concept and implements a people-oriented and fully open service model. The North Library is characterized by simplicity, elegance and practicality, and has the functions of a modern library. The professional branch library of the Institute of Soil and Water Conservation is a professional library established for the implementation of the national innovation project. The total construction area of the library is 32,866 square meters (including the newly built and expanded library area of 24 1.20 square meters), and there are more than 2,050 reading seats (including nearly 400 electronic reading seats). After 70 years of accumulation and construction, by the end of July 2005, the collection of books had reached 1.937 million volumes (excluding e-books). Among them, there are more than 70,000 foreign books/kloc-0, more than 2,600 Chinese newspapers and periodicals, more than 2,400 foreign periodicals, more than 50,000 online ancient books, 240 rare books, 26 CD-ROMs and online databases, and more than 60,000 Chinese and foreign full-text electronic periodicals/kloc-0, including 4,500 foreign electronic periodicals, which have basically formed agriculture, engineering, literature and science.
