The main directions of postgraduate training and research are: material physics and chemistry, material structure and phase transformation, crystal growth and its control, material properties and characterization, metal materials, inorganic non-metallic materials, advanced ceramics, composite materials, nano-materials, functional materials, controlled solidification and new materials, material surface modification and thin film materials, material behavior and technology in special environment, advanced material preparation and forming technology, automatic control of new connection methods and processes, application technology of arc welding robots, etc. There are 3 postdoctoral fellows, 33 doctors, 69 masters and 0/8 masters in engineering.
