South China Agricultural University, called Huanong for short, located in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, is a national key university and a national first-class construction university. The school was founded in 1909, Guangdong agricultural experimental field and agricultural workshop. 1952 South China Agricultural College was formed by the merger of the former Agricultural College of Sun Yat-sen University, the Agricultural College of Lingnan University, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine and the Department of Pests and Diseases of Guangxi University, and was under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture. 1984, renamed South China Agricultural University. In 2000, the school was placed under the management of Guangdong Province by the Ministry of Agriculture.
