During the Tenth Five-Year Plan period, the College of Veterinary Medicine won more than 49 key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, the National Outstanding Youth Fund, the national key scientific and technological projects, the major or key projects of Guangdong Province and the key projects of Guangdong Natural Science Foundation/kloc-0, with a total funding of 35.3 million yuan. In 2005, Professor Xin Chaoan and others participated in the project of "Development and Application of H5 Avian Influenza Vaccine" as the second completion unit, which won the first prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, which was a historic breakthrough in China's scientific research achievements. In the same year, the project "Pharmacology and Application Research of New Antibiotics for Prevention and Treatment of Infectious Diseases of Livestock and Poultry" presided by Professor Chen won the first prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Award, and the project "Prevention and Control of Newcastle Disease" presided by Professor Xin Chaoan won the first prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Award in 2008. For two consecutive years, our college became the first unit in the school to win the first prize of the provincial science and technology award. At present, the research on avian influenza, rabies and parasites in veterinary college has been at the leading level at home and abroad.
During the Tenth Five-Year Plan period, the College of Veterinary Medicine published more than 360 professional papers, of which more than 30 were included in SCI, and some articles were also published in internationally renowned professional academic journals such as PNAS and JVI. Published monograph 17 and textbook 15.
In the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, the College of Veterinary Medicine has always been at the forefront of the whole school. Experimental Veterinary Drug Factory, Huatian Company and Veterinary Science and Technology Research Center are all important production bases and business units of the School Science and Technology Development Corporation. The research and development of national second-class new veterinary drugs such as inactivated avian influenza vaccine and Qiubiqing (won the first prize of agricultural technology popularization in Guangdong Province in 2006) have become the best-selling animal health products in China, bringing honor to the school.
In 2022, the enrollment charter of Hebei University of Engineering has been published, which mainly includes the general situation of
