Chongqing University of Arts and Science is a full-time undergraduate college sponsored by Chongqing Municipal People's Government. Its predecessors, Chongqing Normal University and Yuzhou Institute of Education, were founded in 1976 and 1972 respectively. In May of 20001year, the two universities merged to form Yuxi College; In April 2005, it was renamed Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences.
At present, the school has 1 national professional construction sites, 1 national agricultural and forestry quality plan projects, 1 national quality courses, 1 national quality online open courses, 1 national off-campus practical education bases for college students, 2 municipal professional groups, and 65,440 national "two million" There are 14 municipal first-class professional construction projects, 10 municipal majors, 1 big data intelligent municipal majors, 8 municipal teaching teams and 29 municipal excellent courses.
Robotics engineering, data science and big data technology, materials science and engineering, landscape architecture and other 10 majors entered the enrollment sequence. The school has 4 municipal key disciplines and 2 municipal key training disciplines. In the 20 17 Evaluation and Research Report of China University published by Areisen China Alumni Association Network, the major of landscape architecture and exhibition economy and management ranks first in the ranking of undergraduate majors in Chongqing, ranking fifth and seventh in China, among which the major of landscape architecture has jumped to the level of "national high-level major".
Electronic information science and technology, physical education, electrical engineering and its automation, and environmental science rank among the top three undergraduate majors in Chongqing, and their professional level has reached "China's well-known and regional first-class majors". On 20 17, the school was approved as a training base for engineers' innovative ability in Chongqing.
The school has established Industry-University-Research strategic alliance with Chongqing High-tech Zone, Jiulongpo District, Yongchuan District, Rongchang District, Bishan District and Dazu District, cooperated with well-known enterprises such as Alibaba Cloud, Baidu, Huawei, Tencent, HTC, Gogo and Neusoft International, and made great efforts to establish a number of industrial colleges such as Network and Information College, Gogo Robot Engineering College and Dawa Virtual Reality College.
The school has signed cooperation agreements with more than 300 industrial enterprises such as Chongqing BOE Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Lai Bao Technology Co., Ltd. and Wuhan Huazhong CNC Co., Ltd. to build a practical teaching base integrating teaching, scientific research and production.
