Zhejiang University is an institution of higher learning with a long history and outstanding reputation, located in Hangzhou, a famous historical and cultural city and a scenic tourist attraction in China. Qiushi College, the predecessor of Zhejiang University, was founded in 1897. It is one of the earliest new institutions of higher learning founded by the people of China. 1928, named National Zhejiang University. During the Anti-Japanese War, Zhejiang University moved westward, running schools in Zunyi and Meitan of Guizhou for seven years, and moved back to Hangzhou in the autumn of 1946.
