Harbin Medical University, located in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, is one of the first universities in the Ministry of Education to pilot seven-year higher medical education. The school's predecessor was Harbin Medical College founded by Dr. Lian Dewu in September 1926 and Chinese Workers and Peasants Red Army Health School founded in Ruijin, Jiangxi in October 19365438. 1April, 949, it was formed by the former Harbin Medical University and the first and second branches of the former Xingshan (now Hegang) China Medical University.
