1. Lanzhou Petrochemical Vocational and Technical College was founded on 1956. Its predecessor is two state-level key technical secondary schools (Lanzhou Petroleum School and Lanzhou Chemical School) directly under the Ministry of Petroleum and Chemical Industry, and two staff universities (Lanlian Staff University and Lanhua Staff University) of Lanzhou Petrochemical General Factory and Lanzhou Chemical Company.

1999, approved by the Ministry of Education, the school was restructured into Lanzhou Petrochemical Vocational and Technical College, becoming the first independent higher vocational and technical college in Gansu Province. In 2006, the college was identified by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance as one of the first batch of 28 national key construction demonstration higher vocational colleges.

2. Gansu Vocational and Technical College of Architecture is the only architectural college in Gansu Province approved by the Gansu Provincial People's Government and filed by the Ministry of Education. The school was founded in 1958, and was originally affiliated to Gansu Provincial Construction Engineering Corporation. 200 1 Gansu Institute of Construction Workers' Engineering and Gansu Secondary Vocational School of Construction Workers merged to form Gansu Institute of Construction Technology.
