Central South University of Forestry and Technology is a provincial key university jointly established by the State Forestry Administration and the Hunan Provincial People's Government. Founded in 1958, the school is a key university built by the Hunan Provincial People's Government and the State Forestry and Grassland Bureau. 20 12 was selected as the basic capacity building project in the central and western regions of China. One of the school's predecessors was Hunan Forestry College established by 1958. In 2005, the Ministry of Education officially approved the school to be renamed as Central South University of Forestry and Technology. In 2006, the school merged with the former Hunan Economic Management Cadre College to form the new Central South University of Forestry and Technology.
