Students have so-called awakening classes every week, meditate every day, and there is still corporal punishment for students.

Internal awakening of private schools "universities" has constituted an illegal act.

Lawyers said: Social training institutions such as inner awakening universities, private schools, and Bible reading classes violated the provisions of the Compulsory Education Law and undermined the compulsory education system.

According to the relevant provisions of China's Compulsory Education Law, China implements a nine-year compulsory education system, and school-age children and adolescents have the right to receive compulsory education and should also fulfill their obligations. Compulsory education is implemented for all school-age children and adolescents. Parents or other legal guardians of school-age children and adolescents should ensure that they enter school on time and complete compulsory education according to law.

Lawyers believe that from the perspective of curriculum and teaching content of social training institutions such as Inner Awakening University, private schools and Bible reading classes, it is obviously not compulsory education. Parents of students let their children study here, which violates the provisions of the Compulsory Education Law and fails to fulfill their legal obligations to let their children receive compulsory education.

In addition, the Law on the Promotion of Private Education also stipulates the conditions for holding private education. For example, social organizations that organize private schools should have the status of legal persons, and private schools that implement cultural education such as academic education, preschool education and self-study exams should be examined and approved by the education administrative department of the people's government at or above the county level in accordance with the limits of authority prescribed by the state. The examination and approval authority shall issue a school-running license to a privately-run school approved for formal establishment.

Lawyers said that the business scope of the company affiliated to Inner Awakening University does not include training and education, and it is even more impossible to have a school license. Therefore, "Inner Awakening University" also violates the provisions of the Private Education Promotion Law.
