Zero x "twelve"
"No, I don't want it!" He woke up from his dream again, feeling cold and suffocating from all directions. The whole person seemed to be imprisoned, just like his life, deeply imprisoned by the deep water of the swimming pool, unable to escape and resist. Xu Peng can't remember many things. Maybe he doesn't want to remember them, but that incident changed his fate that night. His eyes were like a hungry wolf, his touch was like a knife, and he lingered like a nightmare every night. The little boy in the dream is still crying. After a normal swimming class, the boy never appeared in the locker room and public toilet again.
Twelve tells the story that the protagonist Xu Peng was sexually assaulted by a swimming coach who took care of him like a father on a summer night a few years ago. Since then, his life has gone in another direction. The film focuses on topics such as male sexual assault, gender cognition, school violence and intergenerational communication, and is divided into four spaces and two time and space. Director Li Zening described it as "stepping into Xu Peng's heart step by step"
Sexual assault, gender cognition, campus violence and intergenerational communication have made many people familiar with the plot of the trailer, but in fact, the story of Twelve has no prototype. Perhaps a certain experience of Xu Peng will find a case in reality. Bosco Wong showed the script to his friends after finishing it, and found that they all had more or less similar experiences. "When my family first saw the script, they asked me if I was hiding something from them." Bosco Wong said with a smile, he never imagined that the fictional story in the film reflected a large area of "silence" truth.
It is legal and moral darkness to mention male sexual assault on the Internet. There are many discordant voices, such as "Brother, you earned it" and "This kind of thing can only happen to homosexuals, which is disgusting", but in fact, apart from the fact of sexual assault, few people will consider where the victim's life trajectory will go after the darkest moment. Twelve shows not only the fact that men are sexually assaulted, but also the change of the victims' lives. The film exposes the neglected and forgotten facts from the four spatial dimensions of reality, illusion, dream and memory. When shooting the depressed emotions in the film, Bosco Wong replaced his feeling of failing in the college entrance examination and the dark moment when he repeated reading, so as to keep pace with the hero's emotions.
The "Twelve" crew has many professional members, from the relevant departments of China Communications University, Nortel University, Chinese Opera and other professional colleges, and there are even guest appearances and guidance from professional teachers in the film. The story trend and emotional changes of the whole movie are nothing like "buddy+layman". But the only director in the crew, Li Zening, is not professional. He relies on his own experience to manage the crew. "Every time I talk about drama and schedule, I have studied it privately and tried to figure it out more than a dozen times."
The film title "Twelve" is based on the meaning of reincarnation in China traditional culture. On the one hand, it refers to the fluctuation of the protagonist's life after sexual assault. For example, in Zhang Ailing's works, "People or things with different faces but similar faces will appear at different stages of life", which is Xu Peng's own reincarnation, and he is eager to get rid of it in reincarnation; On the other hand, this is also the reincarnation of all victims. Even if Xu Peng seeks liberation and self, more victims will enter this painful cycle. When referring to the title of the film, Bosco Wong smiled and gave another explanation, that is, "Friends, family and lovers all have twelve strokes" in a short video, which is consistent with the relationship between the main characters in the film.
The logic of the film is to break up, diffuse and fill the story. "Twelve" is not a narrative, but a state of writing, about the repressed soul of a boy after the turning point, and there is nowhere to put it. I hope that after the twelfth, "everyone and everything will no longer be silent."
Zero x Li Zening
At first, Li Zening became attached to film and television, and still had the advantage of "geographical location". Living in Ningbo, staff often take photos. Li Zening's first contact with the crew in the third grade-guest rock youth in the TV series "From Love to Happiness"; Later, he participated in the performances and work of such plays as Keeping Marriage as Jade, Intern and Happy Detective. "The most beneficial thing in the crew is to talk to the staff about their division of labor and daily life." It is in this observation and study that Li Zening sprouted the idea of practicing.
In 20 16, Li Zening's first micro-film focusing on single-parent families, You Are Still Here, was shortlisted for the 3rd China EU Film Festival, the 14th Beijing International College Students Film Exhibition and the China Public Welfare Film Festival. This has greatly encouraged Li Zening and strengthened his confidence in this field.
"My original dream had nothing to do with making movies. I have always wanted to be an archaeologist. I like the vicissitudes and heaviness I feel when I see Sanxingdui ruins and pyramids. " Speaking of now, Bosco Wong said that he also wanted to try to be a tour guide. He loves to travel and likes to travel around alone in his spare time and experience different regional colors, which is also the source of his creation.
Because "Twelve" is a film with fixed film duration and film equipment, the consideration and demand for funds are relatively large. The family drama in the play could not rent a house to shoot because of financial problems, and finally solved the problem in the home market. For fear of disturbing the normal business dealings in the home market, all family plays can only be filmed at night after work in the market, and other scenes can be filmed during the day. So, 24-hour continuous shooting, Bosco Wong said, it was in the process of filming "Twelve" that he realized that people actually don't need to sleep.
Because of the theme of the film, Bosco Wong thinks he will be under great pressure, especially after the trailer caused a good response in Weibo. "The pressure comes from two aspects. When more and more people pay attention to movies and have expectations, I will want to do better, but I am afraid they will be disappointed; On the other hand, there will always be discordant and unpleasant sounds. Although I have always been used to listening to criticism and constructive opinions, I will improve if there are really shortcomings, but people will always feel uncomfortable when they hear bad ones. "
From the single-parent family in Here You Are to the recent Twelve, Bosco Wong's works always seem to focus on the edge of society, giving people a sense of oppression. But in fact, Bosco Wong in life is introverted. According to his own description, he just can't speak publicly and can't socialize. He likes to communicate with images and let people see what he is like in movies. Bosco Wong writes down news events, hot topics and even short stories in his circle of friends with memos every day, and attaches his own short comments. For example, he said that life is the material library of his creation.
In 20 19, Bosco Wong added another label-CEO, besides actor, director and screenwriter, and established bogart culture, which was another progress in his film and television career.
