For applicants who apply for undergraduate study at Hokkaido University, the school requires the applicant to have received a complete 12-year education abroad. The applicant should be at least 18 years old, or at least 18 years old before March 3 of that year.
Applicants need to take the entrance examination for international students in Japanese universities recognized by Hokkaido University, in which Japanese scores (including writing) need to reach 270 or above, and other basic subjects need to reach 265 or above.
The requirements of other departments are slightly different.
Medical college: Japanese (including writing) score above 385, basic subjects (science and mathematics) score above 340, TOEFL score above 79, and English proficiency test TOEFL score above 750.
School of Dentistry: Japanese (including writing) is above 360 points, and basic subjects (science and mathematics) are above 300 points.
School of Medicine: Japanese (including writing) is above 340 points, and basic subjects (science and mathematics) are above 300 points.
Veterinary College: Japanese (including writing) above 360, and basic subjects (science and mathematics) above 320 /zd/lx.
