Shanghai third airport information
Nantong was once positioned as an auxiliary airport. According to the information disclosed by the East China Bureau of Civil Aviation in official website on June 10, on June 16, Jiang Huaiyu led a delegation from relevant departments of the Bureau and Jiangsu Supervision Bureau to Nantong to investigate the development of civil aviation. Jiang Huaiyu put forward four suggestions for the development of Nantong civil aviation. One of them is to suggest that Nantong Airport should make preparations for the positioning of Shanghai's auxiliary airport, learn from Nantong's strengths, make up for Shanghai's shortcomings, and actively make plans for ground support, airline introduction and aviation park construction. In addition, Jiang Huaiyu also pointed out to Nantong Airport that route subsidies should be transformed into market-oriented, coordinated as a whole, and actively introduce airlines suitable for local characteristics, including low-cost airlines and air freight companies. Geographically, Nantong faces Shanghai across the river, and Nantong Airport is about100km away from Shanghai. Vehicles can reach Shanghai via Sutong Bridge and Chongqi Bridge. In fact, as early as March 20th, 2009, the Civil Aviation Administration issued the Study on the Construction and Development of Nantong Xingdong Airport, positioning Nantong Airport as an auxiliary airport of Shanghai International Aviation Hub. It is planned to be a medium-sized airport in China in the near future and a large airport in the medium and long term. According to public data, in the first half of this year, the two major airports in Shanghai guaranteed a total of 310.52 million aircraft movements, up 6.2% year-on-year. Passenger throughput was 4.321.54 million, up 8.8% year-on-year. Zhang Xilin, a senior analyst at Shen Yin Wanguo Securities Research Institute, told the National Business Daily that if the passenger throughput reaches 80 million passengers in the next five years, the existing and planned expansion capacity of the original site can be met. "The third airport should be a longer-term plan, and it will take a long time from landing to completion." However, like other large airports in China, the problem of tight airspace in Shanghai Airport has always existed. In this regard, the reporter repeatedly called the Shanghai Airport Secretary-General, but did not get a response. The division of labor at the Yangtze River Delta Airport is more reasonable. For the location of the third airport, most of the previous market rumors revolved around Fengxian and Jinshan, and there was also a proposal to choose Jiaxing, Zhejiang. According to the Oriental Morning Post, Shanghai Airport executives said that Fengxian and Jinshan were both under the air route. If the third airport is built here, it will affect the flights in and out of Pudong Airport and Hongqiao Airport, and the effect of diversion increment cannot be achieved. As far as Jiaxing is concerned, it has two major competitive advantages: first, Jiaxing is located between Shanghai and Hangzhou, and the Shanghai-Hangzhou high-speed railway passes through the territory, and the one-way trip is less than half an hour; Second, the construction cost of Jiaxing Airport is relatively low, and its air ticket price should be better than that of airports in Shanghai and Hangzhou. However, compared with Jiaxing, Nantong's aviation industry is still relatively large. Official website of Nantong Airport shows that at present, China Eastern Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, Spring Airlines, Jixiang Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines, Tianjin Airlines, Changjiang Cargo Airlines and other airlines have successively chosen to focus on flight training at this airport. In addition, a number of other airlines are negotiating related business with the airport. Zhang Xilin said that for the auxiliary airport, its positioning is to serve the progress of the hub airport and determine its leading position. There are many factors to consider when choosing an auxiliary airport. For example, if the driving time between the two places is within 1 hour, which is the scope that the original airport can cover, then it is unnecessary. In terms of routes, we also need to pay attention to the overlap of routes. According to media reports, on the whole, Shanghai Airport prefers to locate the third airport in Nantong. According to its idea, the subsequent business jets and low-cost airline flights at Shanghai Airport can be diverted to free up resources to meet the sailing applications of other airlines. As for which part of the business moves out, Zhang Xilin said that it depends on the situation. "Looking at it now, the part with less air time and low market share is more likely to seize a better opportunity at the new airport, but it is still difficult to draw a conclusion about who will definitely move out." An institutional source told the National Business Daily that compared with South China, the competition among airlines in the Yangtze River Delta is not so fierce. "Compared with South China, the demand in the East China market is more concentrated in Shanghai. The main international routes in East China are mostly in Shanghai, and the hub effect is better than that in South China. " He said that when there is a bottleneck in terminal resources, it is more inclined to tilt resources to public transportation, which will expand some business opportunities, but it is hard to say about low-cost airlines. Li Xiaojin, a professor at civil aviation university of china, believes that the airports in the Yangtze River Delta have a reasonable overall division of labor, each with its own living space, and have done a good job in competition and cooperation. From the perspective of cost saving, the third airport should make use of the existing airport. It is reported that the Hutong Railway is already under construction, and it will take about 1 hour after completion, which will increase Nantong's chips for the establishment of the third airport.
