China Geo University is a key university under the national "2 1 1 Engineering" and "985 Innovation Platform of Engineering Superiority".

China Geo University, abbreviated as Dida, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and a world-class discipline construction university. Founded in 1952, it was formerly a geological school formed by the merger of engineering and address of Peking University, Tsinghua University, Tianjin University and Tangshan Railway Institute.

1960 was identified as a national key university by the central government. Moved out during the Cultural Revolution. 1975 moved to Wuhan as a whole and was renamed Wuhan Institute of Geology. The school takes earth science as its main feature, covering engineering, science, management, literature, law, economics, education, art and other disciplines, and is known as "the highest institution of earth science in China".

China Geo University (Wuhan) has undertaken more than 600 national-level projects such as "973" projects and special topics, "863" projects, National Natural Science Foundation and National Social Science Foundation projects, and the research funds have increased steadily. Academician Yin Hongfu confirmed that the scientific and technological achievements of the global Permian-Triassic boundary layer (international standard) won the honors of "Top Ten Progress in Basic Research in China in 20001Year", "Top Ten Scientific and Technological Progress in Universities in China in 20001Year" and "Top Ten Scientific and Technological News in China in 20001Year".

Teachers and students of this school published 4 papers in the international magazine Nature as the first author, Science 1. In the past five years, 50 scientific research achievements in our school have won scientific and technological awards at or above the provincial and ministerial level, including 4 national scientific and technological progress awards, 4 national natural science awards 1 and 4 national scientific and technological progress awards. The Chinese version of Geoscience sponsored by our university was included in the internationally renowned retrieval system EI, the English version was included in the internationally renowned retrieval system SCIE, and the journal (social science edition) entered the China Core Journals Catalogue and CSSCI.
