The School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Hunan University was founded in 1996, and its predecessor was 1926, the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the beginning of Hunan University's naming. It was jointly established by the Ministry of Education and Hunan Province. The college consists of four departments and two centers: chemistry department, chemical engineering department, chemical engineering department, biotechnology department, basic experiment center and professional experiment center. There are 30 faculty members 1 person, including 3 academicians of China Academy of Sciences, 3 doctoral supervisors1person of China Academy of Engineering, 47 professors and 29 associate professors.

College construction:

There are more than 20 well-known adjunct professors at home and abroad. Among the teachers under the age of 45, 73.3% have doctoral degrees, and they have a very reasonable academic team in age structure and academic level. Chemical engineering and technology majors train high-quality scientific and technological talents who are familiar with the professional principles, professional skills and research methods of chemical production technology and can engage in product research and development, device design, production process control and enterprise management in the field of process industry.

Introduction of Hunan University:

Hunan University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, a national "2 1 1 Project", "985 Project" and "double-class" construction university, and has been selected as one of the first batch of national demonstration universities to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, national universities with typical experience in innovation and entrepreneurship, and national innovation and entrepreneurship bases. The school is located in Changsha, Party Secretary and Principal Section. The school motto is "seeking truth from facts and being the first".

Hunan University is known as "the most poetic university in China". By March 2022, disciplines and specialties covered 1 1, with 74 undergraduate majors, 35 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degree, 30 first-class disciplines authorized by doctor's degree and 28 post-doctoral research stations. Two disciplines has two first-class national key disciplines and 14 national key disciplines. Seven disciplines were selected as national defense specialty disciplines, and the disciplines of chemistry, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering entered the ranks of "world-class disciplines", with more than 4,400 faculty members.
