Corps Open University was established in May 1983, when it was established as Xinjiang Radio and TV University Corps Branch. 1993 was established independently in August, enjoying the authority and treatment equivalent to that of provincial TV universities. 1997, the editorial board of the Corps made it clear that the school is an independent and quite deputy-level organizational unit. In June 2020165438+1October, the Corps agreed to rename the Corps Radio and Television University as the Corps Open University. The school has 1 12 staff, 5 leaders, 22 department-level leaders, 7 internal institutions and 8 directly affiliated colleges.

The National Open University is a new type of institution of higher learning directly under the Ministry of Education, with the mission of promoting lifelong learning, supported by modern information technology, characterized by "internet plus" and open education for the whole country. Under the leadership of the Ministry of Education, the National Open University co-ordinates the construction of the national open education system, and its school-running network covers urban and rural areas throughout the country, and cooperates with relevant government departments, industries, enterprises and communities.
