The origin of the name "Tsinghua" in Tsinghua University?
Tsinghua University "Tsinghua" is named after Tsinghua Campus, which is located in the northwest suburb of Beijing.

Tsinghua University (English name: Tsinghua University), short for Tsinghua, was born in191year, formerly known as "Tsinghua School", which was founded by the Qing government to study in the United States. The following year, it was renamed "Tsinghua School". The undergraduate department was established in1925; 1928 changed its name to "National Tsinghua University". 1937 after the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the school moved south to Changsha, and jointly established "National Temporary University of Changsha" with Peking University and Nankai University. 1938 moved to Kunming and changed its name to "National Southwest Associated University"; 1946 moved back to the original site of Beijing Tsinghua Campus.

The name "Tsinghua Campus" was given by Emperor Xianfeng of the Qing Dynasty. The original site of Tsinghua campus was a part of Xichun Garden built during Kangxi period. During the Daoguang period, the original Xichun Garden was divided into two parts. The West Garden was named "Yingchun Garden" and the East Garden was still named "Xichun Garden". After Emperor Xianfeng ascended the throne, Xichun Park in the east was renamed Huayuan. ?

At present, the plaque behind the I-shaped hall in Tsinghua campus is "Shui Mu Tsinghua", with a couplet on each side: the mountains outside the threshold have experienced extraordinary changes in spring, summer, autumn and winter; Clouds in the window follow things, east and west, north and south, which is Xianju. The four dictionaries of Shui Mu and Tsinghua show Xie Shuyuan's poem You in Jin Dynasty: Collection of Songs and Birds, by Zhan Qinghua. "Zhan" means clarification. Therefore, there is a pool at the back of the hall, so the poem on it is used to write "Shui Mu Tsinghua". ?

At the foot of the mountain to the north of Tsinghua No.2 school gate, there is a "Monument to Mr. Wang Jing 'an in Haining" called "the first monument of Tsinghua" by Tsinghua alumni, which was erected to commemorate Wang Guowei for the teachers and students of Sinology College. Chen's inscription "Independent Spirit, Free Thought" is the spiritual portrayal of Tsinghua students from generation to generation.
