Anhui Agricultural University is located in Hefei. It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China, the State Forestry and Grassland Bureau and the People's Government of Anhui Province. It is a provincial key university and the first batch of "high-level universities with local characteristics" in the revitalization plan of higher education in Anhui Province.
Anhui Agricultural University was formerly a provincial Anhui University founded by 1928 in Anqing. It was founded by the Agricultural College of Anhui University in June of 1935, and was renamed as Anhui Agricultural University in 1995. Anhui Agricultural University has 19 colleges (departments), 80 undergraduate majors, 5 post-doctoral research stations, 8 first-class discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 17 first-class discipline master degree authorization points and 8 professional master degree authorization points.
