Anhui Normal University (ANNormal University for short) is located in Wuhu City, Anhui Province. It is a national project of "Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in the Midwest" and the first batch of "High-level University Construction Project with Local Characteristics" and "High-level University Award Fund Project" supported by the revitalization plan of higher education in Anhui Province.
Anhui province's peak discipline construction plan focuses on supporting colleges and universities, and has been selected into the "Excellent Teacher Training Plan" of the Ministry of Education, the national backbone teacher training base of primary and secondary schools of the Ministry of Education, the first batch of social work professional training bases of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the national Chinese education base and the Anhui Chinese International Promotion Center.
The first batch of master's degree awarding units in China, the first batch of universities with the qualification of accepting overseas students at public expense, have the right of self-study for associate professors and the qualification of recommending graduate students without examination, and are also comprehensive provincial key universities with priority admission in Anhui Province.
The school is in the same strain as the National Anhui University in the Republic of China, and it is the first comprehensive university in the history of higher education in Anhui Province. Its predecessor was the provincial Anhui University, which was founded in Anqing, 1928. 1946 was renamed as National Anhui University, and 1949 moved to Wuhu. After that, it went through several stages of running schools, such as Anhui Normal University, Hefei Normal University, Southern Anhui University and Anhui University of Workers and Peasants. 1972, approved by the State Council, was officially named Anhui Normal University.
Teaching construction
By April 2023, the school had 34 national first-class undergraduate specialty construction sites, 2/kloc-0 provincial first-class undergraduate specialty construction sites, 9 national specialties, 1 national specialty comprehensive reform pilot project, 19 national first-class undergraduate courses, 8 national excellent courses, 8 national high-quality enjoyment courses and national excellent resources.
It has 1 national online open courses, 3 national offline courses, 1 national online and offline mixed courses, 3 national teaching achievement awards, 2 national off-campus practical education bases for college students, 1 national experimental teaching demonstration centers, 1 national bilingual courses and 5 national planning textbooks.
