A few days ago, with more than 3,300 freshmen in Tsinghua University reporting to the school, the secondary enrollment of the school started immediately. The reporter learned from some colleges and universities that many schools will also give freshmen the first exam after entering school, and freshmen should be prepared in advance.
It is understood that Tsinghua University's two enrollment majors include four majors: basic science courses of mathematics and physics, basic science courses of chemistry and biology, computer science and clinical medical experiment courses. Candidates applying for these majors must take the exam and meet the school's performance requirements before they can choose the above four majors.
Except for Tsinghua, which started the second enrollment when freshmen entered the school, many schools also provided undergraduates with the opportunity to change their majors at the beginning of enrollment. Some candidates who are admitted to a major they don't like still have the opportunity to choose their favorite major after entering school, but if they want to get what they want, they need to take the exam organized by the corresponding department of the school, because there are restrictions on applying for changing majors. Candidates who apply to change their major should take the exams organized by the Academic Affairs Office and related colleges at the time specified by the school, and they can change their major if they pass the exams.
Some schools also give freshmen English grading tests. For example, all freshmen entering Fudan University (Weibo) must take the College English Grading Examination organized by the school. Students with a TOEFL score of 90 or an IELTS score of 6.5 or above can be exempted from the test. The school will arrange students to study College English I, College English II, College English III and Advanced English respectively according to the results of the grading examination. The examination content is divided into three parts. The first part is listening comprehension, accounting for 30%, including dialogues and essays. The second part is vocabulary and structure, accounting for 30%; The third part is reading comprehension, accounting for 40%, with four short articles. Freshmen from China Agricultural University (Weibo) and Beijing Jiaotong University also have to take the English Grading Test.
The person in charge of the college admissions office reminded that freshmen should prepare for the exam in advance according to the school situation and related requirements.
