Henan university of economics and law, located in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, is a provincial public full-time ordinary institution of higher learning approved by the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and People's Republic of China (PRC) with economy, management and law as its main subjects. It is also one of the key universities supported by Henan Province.

Henan university of economics and law was formed by the merger of the former Henan Institute of Finance and Economics and the former Henan Institute of Political Science and Law Management on March 20 10. The former Henan University of Finance and Economics was founded in April1983; The history of running the former Henan Institute of Political Science and Law Management Cadre can be traced back to the Western Henan Administrative Cadre School, which was established in 1948. Later, on 1952, it was independently established as the Henan Provincial Ethnic Affairs Commission Cadre School, and 1984 was named as the Henan Provincial Political and Legal Cadre School.
