Qingdao University of Science and Technology is a key university directly under the former Ministry of Chemical Industry and a provincial comprehensive university of science and technology. It is a multi-disciplinary provincial key university focusing on engineering, with the coordinated development of science, engineering, literature, economics, management, medicine, law and art, and featuring materials science, chemical engineering, applied chemistry, mechanical engineering, automation, information and computer.
It is a national "excellent engineer education and training plan" university and a key construction university with basic characteristics of "Shandong Famous School Project".
Qingdao University of Science and Technology, formerly known as Wen Hui Academy, was the first missionary school established by foreigners in Shenyang in February 1876. 1958 was established as Shandong Institute of Chemical Technology with the approval of Shandong Provincial People's Government.
1984 was renamed Qingdao Institute of Chemical Technology with the approval of the Ministry of Education. 1998 The school was transferred to Shandong Province by the Ministry of Chemical Industry and jointly built by the central and local governments. 200 1 Qingdao Arts and Crafts School merged and was renamed Qingdao University of Science and Technology with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2002.
By May, 20 18, the school has formed a school-running pattern of "three places and five campuses" in Qingdao, Gaomi and Jinan, with a school building area of 920,000 square meters. There are 5 first-level disciplines authorized by doctoral degrees, 5 post-doctoral research stations, 22 first-level disciplines authorized by master's degrees, 9 master's degree categories and 72 undergraduate majors.
