Guangxi Normal University is located in Guilin, a world-class tourist city and a national historical and cultural city. It was established by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The school's predecessor, Guangxi Teachers College, was founded in 1932, which is the beginning of higher normal education in Guangxi and one of the earliest higher normal schools in China. 1983 was renamed Guangxi Normal University.

Guangxi University is located in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi, which is known as "China Greentown". Guangxi University 1928 was founded in Wuzhou, and 1939 became the national Guangxi University. 1952, named after "Guangxi University".
The school has a complete range of disciplines, including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management, art and so on, with 38 first-class disciplines. The school was formerly known as Guangxi Provincial Medical College. Approved by the Ministry of Education, it was renamed Guangxi Medical College in June1949+065438+1October, Guangxi Medical College in April 1953 and Guangxi Medical University in May 1996.
