Volume 2 In King's Landing, there were three large-scale riots:
1 sansha2
② Sansa 3
③ Tyrion 9
Before these three riots, there were small-scale riots in the streets of King's Landing due to lack of food. Back in Tyrion 1, Genos, then the captain of King's Landing Urban Management? Slint mentioned the problem of riots:
At this time, the riots are scattered in the streets and alleys, and the scale should be small.
What is the state of King's Landing at this moment?
The food price in King's Landing has started to rise, and the golden robe has strengthened security. It can be guessed that there should have been cases of hungry people attacking the golden robe before. From Arya's point of view, we also found that due to the river war, civilians began to gather in King's Landing, which aggravated the lack of food in the city. Most of these people are victims of Tywin's "mad dog" and lack a good impression on Lannister. Moreover, the mountain people brought by Tyrion also had a negative impact on the image of the Iron Throne.
In Tyrion 4, the situation in King's Landing deteriorated again, and we saw the first murder committed by the mob:
Generally speaking, before the riots began, King's Landing had been hungry for a long time, and civilians were not afraid to fight with the Golden Robe.
In Tyrion 4, Tyrion makes it clear to Littlefinger that he wants to send Missella to eyrie. Littlefinger said he wanted to talk to Lysa, and even the time was arranged:
Immediately after the next chapter (Sansa 2), Sir Dontos met Sansa in Shenmu Forest. This joint has obviously been arranged by Littlefinger, and Sansa has given it in advance before. The first riot in King's Landing happened that night.
Obviously, the first riot was not a coincidence, but to divert Hongbao's attention. The riot was triggered by Turek's wedding reception.
In this state of king's landing, Tirek's wedding banquet will certainly not invite too many guests, and it is estimated that there are only a few people in the Red Castle. Civilians are so short of food, it is obviously unwise to preach that Hongbao will hold a banquet. On the whole, Littlefinger must have been a lookout on purpose. Through the first riot, we know that Littlefinger has the ability to spread rumors and fan the flames in the crowd, but unfortunately, how to do it is not specified in detail.
There is no positive description of the second riot, but it is described by Joffrey in Sansa 3. Personally, I think it's probably related to the big sparrow.
In Tyrion 5, Tyrion passes by a "prophet"
Look at the content of his speech:
This "prophet" not only mentioned Cersei, Zhan Mu and Joffrey, but also mentioned the rumor about Stannis fabricated by Littlefinger, which demonized Robert's death and mentioned the extravagant life of the Archbishop. Mr. Martin was afraid that everyone could not see the archbishop's part, and he specially emphasized through Tyrion:
Moreover, after the second riot was imprisoned in Tyrion 6 Beggars' Sect, it was not mentioned in Tyrion 7 in the next chapter of King's Landing. Joffrey preached to Sansa how brave he was yesterday in Sansa 3 in the next chapter of King's Landing. Although it took three chapters from the beggar's imprisonment to the second riot, it won't take long:
Tyrion 6: Cersei catches beggars and Tyrion catches Grand Maester Pycelle.
Tyrion 7: Cersei sent Lancer to order Tyrion to release Maester Pycelle.
These two chapters should be available in a few days.
Sansa 3 has no definite time, but there are only two chapters from Tyrion 7, and the interval should not be long.
In the absence of clear evidence, if there is a black hand behind the second riot, it can only be a big sparrow, otherwise it will be as simple as "begging for bread".
The cause was to send Missella to Dorne, and the home of the Iron Throne and the courtiers went out collectively. Martin took pains to describe the specific situation of the Wangs' team:
At that time, the commander of the golden robe, Sir Jacelin Byatt, was responsible for opening the way, followed by a group of lancers wearing black armor and golden robes;
He was followed by Sir Allen Santagar and Sir Baron Swing, both of whom were depressed;
Joffrey and Sansa are next. The hounds are beside Joffrey. Manden? Moore is beside sansa;
The next one is Toman escorted by Sir Preston Griffith (Kingsguard);
Followed by Cersei and Lanser (Lannister, the eldest son of Cersei's uncle Kaifeng), protected by Sir Marin Tran and Sir Burroughs Braun (these two are also Kingsguard);
Then Tyrion and Polon;
Followed by the archbishop (in a sedan chair) and other courtiers;
Finally, there are two rows of guards behind the house.
A woman carrying a dead baby rushed to the middle of the road. At first, Joffrey seemed to ride her down, but sansa stark dissuaded him. Joffrey threw her a silver coin.
Then after Cersei spoke, the woman began to scold Cersei; Someone in the crowd threw shit at Joffrey in the chaos.
In this series, it is difficult for most people to control their emotions, let alone Joe the Great.
If Joffrey directly rides a horse/sends hounds or golden robes to kill women-> Civilians witnessed the emperor's atrocities->; The rebels
If Joffrey ignores women-> Civilians don't care if they live or die when they see the king-> Throw shit-> The emperor couldn't stand his humiliation and sent hounds to arrest people-> The rebels
If Joffrey helps a woman-> But someone in the crowd threw shit-> The emperor couldn't stand his humiliation and sent hounds to arrest people-> The rebels
Joffrey got off the horse and helped the woman-> Someone in the crowd threw shit-> Not only was the emperor not angry, but he also announced that he would take food from the red castle to help the people in King's Landing.
But this is not Joffrey.
It can be said that the double insurance of "women+throwing shit" ensures Joffrey's violence in front of civilians, which in turn ensures that riots must occur. It can be concluded that the riots in King's Landing did not happen by accident, but someone was directing the riots. Littlefinger and Varis are the only directors, and no one else is qualified to direct the riot. Personally, I think so.
Three people were killed in this riot: the Archbishop, Sir Preston Gryffindor, the Kingsguard, and Sir Allen Santaga, the coach of Red Castle. Plus the disappearance of Terek Lannister.
The archbishop is sitting in a sedan chair, moving slowly with a big goal, and is vulnerable to group fights. Moreover, the "prophet" Tyrion met also preached the corruption of the archbishop in the crowd and incited people to be dissatisfied with the archbishop. Sir Preston Gryffindor was also killed to save the archbishop. It can kill the armed Kingsguard, which shows how fierce the mob attacks the archbishop.
The archbishop's murder must have been premeditated. Before that, someone had been playing rhythm, and the Archbishop "fell out of the sedan chair". It is likely that the person sitting in the sedan chair was bribed and deliberately threw the archbishop out to the mob as a target. The crowd attacked the archbishop very fiercely, because Sir Preston Griffith, the Kingsguard, could not be killed by unarmed civilians no matter how weak his force was. Someone in the mob should have a weapon in his hand, and Sir Preston's death also hinted at this:
These armed men should be planted among the civilians by instigators, and some people want to ensure that the archbishop must be killed.
The archbishop should belong to Littlefinger.
Kate Black is Littlefinger. Littlefinger should arrange for the Archbishop to facilitate Cersei's meeting with the Kate Black brothers. It's the eyeliner of little finger next to Cersei. At this point, Littlefinger is actively preparing to escape. Killing him doesn't mean much to Littlefinger, who is already outside King's Landing, but replacing the archbishop who is seriously dissatisfied with the civilians can improve the morale in King's Landing and help Stannis hold on for a long time when attacking the city. Renly is dead at this time, Robb is not interested in the iron throne (he can't get it down in strength), and only Stannis has the possibility of attacking King's Landing. Stannis's capture of King's Landing means that Varis and Littlefinger's head will fall to the ground, and Varis will live: ① keep Lannister; ② Go underground. Because Renly died too suddenly, the senior bird in Varis should not be ready yet, so we can only choose ①. And why not change the archbishop who listens to himself?
Moreover, Littlefinger doesn't need this archbishop anymore, and manipulating the public opinion of King's Landing has no practical significance for Littlefinger in the short term. If he doesn't keep his mouth shut, it may expose the true identity of the Kate Black brothers, which will directly affect the spy who Littlefinger planted next to Cersei. So the Archbishop may have been sentenced to death by Varis and Littlefinger, and died miserably.
Allen Santaga should have been killed by Littlefinger. Baron Sven, who played the flag with him, returned safely, but Allen Santagar was dragged off the saddle. It should also be intentional. In the first volume of Game of Thrones, Allen Santaga had an exchange with Sir Roderick, the coach of Winterfell, about tile daggers. This tile dagger should be Littlefinger. Allen Santaga inadvertently became the witness of Littlefinger's murder of Bran, and he had to die.
There has been no news since Littlefinger went to Bitter Bridge. What is he waiting for?
Personally, I think he's waiting for a riot, Sansa and Stannis.
Judging from Sansa's words, most mobs just throw things, but one person wants to drag Sansa into the water. Of course, this may be just a coincidence, but if Littlefinger wants to escape, she will arrange Sansa to go to the valley directly through riots, and Sansa will disappear directly, and no one knows what is going on. Once the news of Sansa's disappearance reaches Robb, Zhan Mu will be doomed. Tywin is likely to be desperate to move along the northern border. When Stannis attacked the city, only River King and Little Finger took the lead directly. And the fire that followed was also very strange.
Shortly after the hounds brought Sansa back, the flea nest caught fire. Let's look at the map. Where are the riots and fires in the flea nest?
18 in the picture is the mud gate, which should be where Missella boarded the ship.
Joffrey took the road of 14 in the picture;
Figure 8 shows the location of the flea nest.
It turned out that the riots trapped a large number of golden robes and Wong Kar-wai at the foot of Egon Mountain (9 in the picture is the Red Fort, which is located on the Egon Mountain). When the flea nest is on fire again, the rest of the guards in King's Landing flock to the east, and there should be few guards in the whole west. It's easy for Sir Dontos to take Sansa out of town directly.
The disappearance of Terek should be similar to Sansa's method, but it should refer to Wallis. The reason is simple:
Littlefinger's mention of Rick doesn't make any sense.
The greatest use of Terek is that Cersei witnessed Robert's murder. Littlefinger doesn't need Cersei to fall, and he doesn't want Cersei to fall quickly, and he doesn't need to kidnap Tirek and hold Lannister hostage. There is another variable in Terek's kidnapping, which can easily affect Littlefinger's more important plans.
Moreover, Varis has been preparing for the restoration of Egon/Daenerys. With Tirek as a witness, it was announced that Cersei's murder of Robert could hit the morale of the Iron Throne. Varis seems to be associated with the Big Sparrow (this problem is too troublesome to explain, so do a separate issue when you are free). When Cersei was tried by the church, if Terek appeared as a witness, Cersei's chances of losing the case would be greatly improved.
And Varis is very familiar with the secret passage in the Red Castle. He first took Tirek to a place where there were few people, entered the secret passage, and directly hid Tirek in the red castle. No matter how many people Tyrion and Tywin arrange to search the city, it is hard to think that Tirek has been to the Red Castle.
Many people think that Madden Moore acted suspiciously in this riot, but I personally think he has nothing to do with it. Joffrey sent the hounds directly to the crowd. Sir Madden is the only Kingsguard around the king. Who does he protect from the king?
