Cao Wenxuan,/kloc-0, born in June, 1954, was born in Yancheng, Jiangsu. Member of National Committee of Chinese Writers Association, Vice Chairman of Beijing Writers Association, Professor Peking University, doctoral supervisor.

The main literary works are Melancholy Pastoral, Red Gourd, Rose Valley, Following Eternity, Triangle Land and so on.

The novels include Goats Don't Eat Paradise Grass, Straw House, Red Tiles and Black Tiles, Root Birds, polished rice, Bronze Sunflower and so on.

The main academic works are Research on China Literature Phenomenon in 1980s, The Second World-Philosophical Interpretation of Literature and Art, Research on China Literature Phenomenon at the End of 20th Century, Novel Gate, etc.

In 2003, Collected Works of Cao Wenxuan (9 volumes) was published by Writers Publishing House. Red tiles and black tiles, Straw House and some short stories have been translated into English, French, Japanese and Korean respectively. He has won more than 40 academic awards and literary awards.
