Nanchang Hangkong University, located in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, is a multidisciplinary university with coordinated development of engineering, science, literature, management, economics, law, teaching and art. It is a first-class discipline construction university in Jiangxi Province, which is jointly established by the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government and the National Bureau of Defense Science, Technology and Industry, implemented by the Ministry of Education's outstanding engineer education and training plan, and accepted by the China Municipal Government's scholarship for overseas students.

The school was founded in Hankou Aviation Industry School on 1952, and was renamed as Zhongnan No.1 Industrial School on 1953. 1954 moved to Nanchang, and 1956 was renamed Nanchang Aviation Industry School. 1978 was renamed Nanchang Institute of Aviation Industry. In 2007, it was renamed Nanchang Hangkong University.
