Shanxi Normal University was founded in 1958, formerly known as Jinnan Normal University. 1964 was reorganized into Shanxi Teachers College, 1984 was renamed as Shanxi Normal University, and 1999 was renamed as Shanxi Vocational Teachers College and Physical Education College of Shanxi Normal University.
