Xiamen University (XMU), located in Xiamen, Fujian Province, is one of the first independent audit institutions with degree authorization, and is ranked among the national "Double-Class", "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project", and selected into the national "201Plan" and "Everest Plan".
Xiamen University was founded by Mr. Chen Jiageng, a patriotic overseas Chinese leader. It is the first university founded by overseas Chinese in the history of modern education in China, and it is also one of the earliest universities in China to recruit graduate students.
It became the first university in China to build an independent campus overseas, and its early buildings were selected as national key cultural relics protection units and "the first batch of 20th century architectural heritages in China", which was praised as "the strongest in the South" and "the most beautiful university in China".
As of April 2023, the school has established Siming Campus, Zhangzhou Campus, Xiang 'an Campus and Malaysia Campus; There are graduate schools, 6 departments, 34 colleges (directly affiliated departments and directly affiliated centers) and 17 research institutes;
