1950 Dalian University was abolished and Dalian Medical College became independent. 1969 Dalian Medical College moved south to Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, and established Zunyi Medical College. 1978 The school resumed classes at the original site of Dalian Medical College, which is still called Dalian Medical College. 1994 The school was renamed Dalian Medical University.
