What is a college English contest?
1. The purpose of the College English Competition is to cooperate with the evaluation of the teaching level of higher education, implement the spirit of various English teaching reforms in colleges and universities, promote the overall improvement of college students' English level, stimulate their interest in learning English, and motivate college students with excellent English learning results. Carrying out this competition will help to fully display the national college English teaching level and teaching reform achievements, ensure the implementation of various indicators related to college English teaching, help students consolidate and expand their basic English knowledge and skills, comprehensively improve their comprehensive English application ability, and push the national college English teaching quality to a new level.

Second, the participants

This competition is divided into four groups: A, B, C and D. Postgraduates and students of all grades in colleges and universities all over the country can voluntarily sign up for the competition. Class A exam is suitable for graduate students; Class B exams are suitable for English majors and junior college students. Class C exam is suitable for non-English majors. Class D examination is suitable for undergraduates majoring in sports art and non-English majors in higher vocational colleges. This competition is open to all kinds of college students studying English in colleges and universities all over the country. College students can voluntarily sign up for the competition and advocate the Olympic spirit of "focusing on participation". This competition adheres to the principle of voluntary registration, avoiding the practice of selecting only "top students" and excluding most students from the competition.

Three. Competition time and operating rules

1. Time and form of preliminary competition: The 2023 preliminary competition will be held in participating universities across the country from 9: 00 to1/kloc-0 on Sunday, May 7, 2023. The initial questions include written answers and listening comprehension. The preliminary audition is the form of playing the recording. 2. Final Time and Form: The written test (including listening) for the 2023 final will be held at the universities designated by the provincial competition organizing committees from 9: 00-1:00 on Saturday, June 3, 2023. The finals are divided into two ways; You can choose one nationwide: the first one is written test (including listening), and the second one is written test (including listening) and oral test. The final score of students who only take the written test (including listening) is150; Students who take the written test (including listening) and the oral test at the same time have a final score of 200, of which the written test score is 150 (including listening) and the oral test score is 50. The final test questions, oral test plan and test questions are formulated by the organizing Committee of the national competition. The organizing committee of the provincial competition uniformly chooses whether to participate in the oral test, and decides the location, time and form of the oral test.
